Fall Trips
Whenever I'm out and enjoying the fall scenery as I drive or walk around I miss our fall trip. We have gone to Wisconsin the last 2 or 3 years in a row. Maybe I'll drive to Iowa next weekend and see the remnants there.
My friend, Tom, took some gorgeous pictures in the Smoky Mountains last weekend. Most of his images are quite large so you may be frustrated waiting for them if you have a slow Internet connection. Tom's website is MellowDolphin.com.
We went to the Terra Museum on Saturday. Unfortunately its facility is closing at the end of this month. The Foundation that runs it will still be in existence, but they will be rotating their collections through exhibits at the Art Institute from now on. I wish I had gone there sooner because they have such a nice, large facility right on North Michigan Avenue. I was impressed with their collection and saw several paintings I really liked. They had a very nice exhibit on Chicago painters from the period of 1893-1945.
